Leeds United narrowly escaped relegation yesterday with a 2-1 win over Brentford.
The last day of the season is always an exciting day fuelled with nerves of last minute changes to the table- but with Leeds teetering in the relegation zone, everything rested on their last game.
Staying clear of relegation and becoming last minute winners, Jack Harrison brought what Leeds United described as "sparked utter scenes", bringing home the all-important three points that allowed the team to return to the Premier League for the 2022/3 season.

Jesse Marsch was overjoyed with the news but acknowledged that the team wouldn't have managed to turn things around without a full team effort.
The manager commented: "We are Leeds United, we aren't me, we are not Kalvin Philips, we are Leeds United".

Majority owner Andrea Radrizzani issued a statement to the fans to congratulate them on the news:
"We are naturally delighted to see the 2021/22 season come to a conclusion with Leeds United remaining in the Premier League.
"This has been a painful season for everyone, from the board to the fans in the stands, the changing room to the ticket office, it has been a battle.
"The campaign has been blighted by serious injuries to key players and having to make an unplanned managerial change was an incredibly tough decision.

"Staying in the Premier League was our objective this year and weāve managed to obtain our top-flight status, but this is not success and improvements are needed.
"As a board we will work hard with Jesse Marsch this summer to improve the squad and find a way to deliver the kind of performances you all deserve.
"We believe that with time and a full pre-season, Jesse will be the man to take this club forward.

Yorkshire residents are being invited to name two new bin lorries
Clementine Hall
Well...this is a new one.
Ever fancied naming a bin lorry? Well today is your lucky day, because now you can.
Yorkshire-based waste management expertsĀ DivertĀ are celebrating the arrival of two swanky new tbin rucks by inviting the local community to help name them.
The iconic purpleĀ bins, vans and trucks can be seen across the Yorkshire area helping to clean up waste from Bradford to Harrogate.
Two new lorries are set to be joining the fleet in April and May, and of course they need a name.
And who better to ask than the general public? The winning names will be added to the cabs of each of the trucks for all to see, and announced via the Divert website and social media channels.
Absolutely anyone from across the UK is welcome to take part, but the company are especially keen for people from Yorkshire to enter.
You can be as creative as you like, but there are a couple of rules...
No swearing or offensive names. Aside from that, you can let your freak flag fly.
The Divert team are keen to hear the 'best celebrity puns, local namesakes, and downright silly names' the public have to offer.Ā
John Verity, Managing Director ofĀ Divert, comments: āNaming ourĀ binĀ trucks is a great way to bring some joy to the local community. We hope to bring a smile to the faces of passing drivers and pedestrians as our fleet passes by.Ā
āNot only that, naming our lorries can help our drivers to take pride and ownership in the vehicles they drive and be a key reminder of our engagement within the community. Weāre always keen to employ any initiatives that help the public to engage with us and ensure weāre seen as a friendly face in the area.āĀ
Winners will be voted for by the team internally, and the competition closes at 5 pm on 31 March 2026.
