The 2024/25 Championship season is nearly underway and, as always, one of the best bits about the lead-up is getting to see all the new kits dropping – and let us tell you, Leeds United’s latest away shirt has gone down an absolute storm.

With Red Bull recently being revealed as the front-of-shirt sponsor ahead of the home kit’s debut last month, not to mention being brought in as minority investors as the club looks to rebuild, it really is looking like the start of a new era for the Whites.

And what better signals a new chapter for a club than a new logo slapped right on the front of the strip?

In all seriousness, many of our football memories are strongly linked to iconic kits and the main shirt sponsors they are associated with, so the pressure was on to make the Leeds 24/25 kits an instant hit and they did not disappoint.

As you can clearly see, not only is the bright yellow and blue away shirt in keeping with the club’s core colour scheme, but the ever-bold contrast and more classic design have seen fans falling practically over themselves.

Bringing back an old-school button collar along with blue and white trims and accents in the detailing, twinned with a recognisable brand smack bang in the middle, it has all the components of a vintage in the making, doesn’t it?

But the star of the show is undoubtedly the retro ‘smiley face’ badge, a throwback to the Leeds of old and a direct nod to the 1974 home shirt, which remains one of the club’s most iconic kits.

Not only have the vast majority of supporters been quick to favour this one over the home release but some are going so far as to call it “the best in years” and even one of if not “the best Leeds Kit ever”.

Big, big statements from the Elland Road faithful there but it’s clearly gone down as a modern classic, with many simply happy to see the divisive patterned strips swapped out.

If you’re a Leeds fan, you can never go wrong with yellow and blue, can you?

What about you – how would you rank the new Leeds away shirt when put up against the great kits of yesteryear?
