Wife of the former Leeds Rhinos is continuing her fundraising efforts for MND charities with a huge 26 mile run.
The Run For All Marathon is returning to Leeds in May, and this year, the charity marathon is going to be the very first Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon.
And taking part in support of the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Appeal as well as the MND Association is wife of Rob Burrow, Lindsey and her brother Mark.
A full time carer, mother of three and physiotherapist, Lindsey has been “pushing herself out of her comfort zone” and training day and night for the challenge.
The family continues to be a huge inspiration to Leeds, and ever-humble, Rob Burrow shared this heartfelt message of support for his wife.
I’m my wife’s biggest fan. How she can look after me and the kids and find time to train for a marathon. Not all super heroes wear Capes, some wear running gear https://t.co/I31NsmZ9Vs

The Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon is expecting to see over 10,000 participants running across a new route starting at Headingley Stadium before heading out into some of ‘Leeds’ most scenic countryside and outer suburbs’ before finishing back up at the Leeds Rhinos home in Headingley- which Run For All is calling “a fitting tribute to the city that launched Rob’s career and which he calls home.”
In December 2019, former Leeds Rhinos player Rob Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease and told he may only have a year to live, two at the most. Defying the odds, Rob has now reached his 40th Birthday.
MND is a degenerative disease that has left Leeds Rhinos legend of 16 years, Rob Burrow, paralysed and forced to communicate with his family through an eye-driven device. The condition affects nerves in the brain and spinal cord and has life-changing consequences for anyone diagnosed with the condition.
There are currently over 5,000 people in the UK living with the “brutal disease” according to the MDA Association.
The number seven has been one of a signature trademark for the former rugby player. Rob used to play with a 7 on his back, and ever since we’ve seen it used it a range of charity events to raise money for MND charities and supporting the Burrow family.
With this in mind, Lindsey is aiming to raise £7,777.
