Leeds loves chocolate- according to this survey.

Whilst it might come as no surprise to some, Leeds has voted the chocolate-covered cake from Roald Dahl’s Matilda, known as the ‘Bruce Bogtrotter cake’ as the cake that they would most like to try.

As part of its Grill & Chill campaign with George Foreman®, Leeds residents were asked to select which famous dish they would most like to try from a some of TV and film’s most iconic foodie moments.

The study was brought in to learn more about the UK’s relationship with TV and food, and well, there’s some interesting answers.

The study found that the average adult spends 496 days of their lives deciding which takeaway they should order and what to watch on the TV, plus almost a third (32%) Leeds residents eat dinner in front of the television every night.

So really, it’s no wonder we were ready to answer the question: which food would you most like to try from TV or in the movies?

Here’s what they said about the results: “Bruce Bogtrotter’s iconic chocolate cake from Matilda taking the number one spot with almost a quarter (24.6%) of those surveyed wanting to give it a try.

“Animated classic Scooby Doo followed in second, with almost 23% of the city enticed by the crunchy Scooby Snacks, and the mouth-watering Cheesecake from Mama’s Little Bakery featured in cult classic Friends took the third spot.”
