New grill and champagne bar iKaro announces Leeds opening

Reported to be coming to Leeds early next year.

The swanky bar will be opening inside the former East 59th site.

The fire and ice themed bar has just opened in Manchester, and now has begun work to open in Leeds early next year.

Very little has been released about the Leeds opening, but if the first of the northern bars is anything to go by, we’re in for a proper Champagne bar with everything from Grilled Lobster Tails to Australian Wagyu Tomahawk and Japanese A5 Wagyu Ribeye on the menu.

There’s two different elements: fire and ice involved in the menu, all expertly crafted with options like Torched Hand Dived Scallops and Bluefin Tuna Otoro all on the menu.

The current menus are the work of talented Lattawan Buchanan, previously Head Chef at SAKKU Leeds and Exose Grant, a finalist on Masterchef The Professionals 2019 and contestant on Bake Off The Professionals in the same year.

The drinks options are just as lavish, with iKaro boasting ‘countless varieties of Champagne’ and ‘frequently changing sommelier’s selection of rare bottles which, in keeping with our reputation as a go-to late night haunt, will be served up until the early hours’.

The Manchester restaurant hosts 84 covers and a similar number is expected in Leeds given the restaurant will be taking over the Victoria Leeds rooftop space that East 59th occupied until January 2023.
