A new survey has revealed the very best cities in the UK to move to after university, and Leeds takes one of the top spots.
Picture the scene… you’re fresh out of university, cheeky degree under your belt, bright eyed and bushy tailed…what’s in stall for you next? Where are you going to move to?
The answer is Leeds.
Or at least it should be according to Mystudenthalls.com.
New research has revealed the best cities for graduates to move to after university based on a huge range of factors such as cost of rent against average salary, monthly utility bills, quality of life and dining out.
Leading the way at top spot is Newcastle, followed by Coventry, Sunderland and then little old us, Leeds, at a very respectable fourth place.
Leeds showed to have one of the lowest costs of living rates in the ranking, with only 27% of the average salary needed for rent and less than £220 for monthly utilities.
Also included in the list is our Northern friend Sheffield at number seven.
The top 10 cities to move to after university are as follows:
- Newcastle
- Coventry
- Sunderland
- Leeds
- Reading
- Belfast
- Sheffield
- Stoke-on-trent
- Glasgow
- Edinburgh
Dan Roberts, director of Mystudenthalls.com, said: “This data really shows how far your rent can go in different cities for those considering a move. Relocating to a new city after university, whether in the UK or further afield, offers an incredible opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.
“It’s a chance to explore and immerse yourself in a new culture and enjoy what new cities have to offer while you’re still young and aren’t too tied down. It can also expand your network of friends and professional connections too.”
