According to singletons, our lovely Yorkshire twang is one of the sexiest in the whole of the UK.
Yep, we’ll definitely take that.
Tinder, the iconic dating app, has released its annual Year In Swipe report that details everything from the most common emoji to the most common name used on the app throughout the year.
And not only that, this year they analysed what accents in the UK are truly the sexiest.
To do so, Tinder analysed the data from Tinder bios, descriptors, and interests among its UK users from 1 January to 1 October 2024. And the results were pretty interesting indeed.
Coming in at number one was, unsurprisingly, the Irish accent. We will blame Cillian Murphy for this one.
In second place was Scottish followed by Essex and in a very respectable fourth place, Yorkshire.
On the other end of the scale, the Brummie accent is the least popular followed by Geordie, Scouse and the Sheffield accent. Sorry guys.
Apart from accents, Tinder revealed the most popular emoji to be the pink bow, the most attractive interest to be gaming and the top date activity to be…a rave. How romantic.
The most common first name on the list for men was Alex and for women was Maria.
Melissa Hobley, Tinder’s Chief Marketing Officer, said: “These trends are all about empowering choice—whether it’s confidently stating your needs while Loud Looking, savoring serendipitous moments through Kiss-mets, or finding meaning in micro-connections with Nano-ships.
“While last year was focused on ‘dating for the plot’ and casually exploring, this year, singles are stepping up, leading with purpose, and making their dating journeys truly their own.”
